Company recognized for third consecutive year due to leadership, performance & innovation
Edison, NJ, October 18, 2022 — CS Energy has been named a finalist in the annual S&P Platts Global Energy Awards for a third consecutive year. The 2022 Finalists, representing over 26 countries, were announced by event host S&P Global Commodity Insights, the leading independent provider of information, analysis and benchmark prices for commodities, metals, petrochemicals, energy and energy transition markets. Often described as “the Oscars of the energy industry,” the award program recognizes corporate and individual innovation, leadership and exemplary performance in 19 categories spanning the entire energy and chemicals complex.
CS Energy’s Chief Financial Officer, Diana Palazzi Mery, was named a finalist in the Rising Star Individual category due to her innovation, creation of new opportunities, and ability to deliver measurable results. Diana’s innovative strategies and reporting she helped plan and execute enabled CS Energy to grow its revenue by 182 percent over 5 years. With Diana at the helm of CS Energy’s Accounting & Finance Department, the company tripled its energy storage business, and reached a milestone of 1 gigawatt of solar installations. As a result of her diligence, financial expertise and ability to recognize financial growth potential, Diana was promoted nine times since she began working for CS Energy, rising from intern to eventually Chief Financial Officer.
Part of Diana’s vision of strategic growth for CS Energy also involved Diana founding and leading CS Energy WiRE (Women in Renewable Energy), a women-focused employee resource group to ensure that both men and women at the company had access to the mentors, training and support they needed to reach their full potential at CS Energy. In addition to providing more merit-based opportunities for women at CS Energy, CS Energy WiRE also co-hosted external recruiting and informational events to encourage more women to pursue STEM careers. Since Diana founded CS Energy WiRE, CS Energy has successfully increased its female staff by 70 percent and has reached 50 percent C-Suite women.
“In a year of unexpected challenges, from Europe’s energy crisis to trade-flow changes and banner market volatility, it’s particularly inspiring to see the innovation and leadership of this year’s finalists in steering a course toward a better energy future,” said Sue Avinir, Senior Vice President of Conferences & Advisory Solutions, S&P Global Commodity Insights. “We’re proud to honor this year’s finalists and celebrate their efforts.”
Winners will be selected from each corresponding group of finalists by the Global Energy Awards’ independent panel of judges and announced at the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards black-tie gala in New York on December 8th.
