PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Brockton Municipal Landfill is located in eastern Massachusetts, 15 miles south of Boston in the city of Brockton.

The Brockton Landfill had been used as a disposal site by the City of Brockton and area industries for municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris and other types of waste materials. Onyx Renewable Partners jumped at the opportunity to turn the 35 acres site into a solar producing facility.

As the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor, Conti provided development support, engineering, procurement, construction, interconnection, commissioning, testing and startup as a complete turnkey package to Onyx. Conti designed all aspects of the Facility including the layout, electrical and structural components while remaining in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and location laws, regulations, codes, licenses and permit requirements. Due to the atypical geotechnical conditions of the landfill, Conti designed a customized ballasted racking system and installation process to ensure that the integrity of the existing cap was not compromised.

Conti delivered this high-quality system on-time and on-budget for Onyx.
